I previously enjoyed my time at Planet Fitness, but I am not using it right now and did not want to pay my annual membership fee, so I called earlier this month (5/12) to cancel. I did not have my original contract, but the gentleman told me that I needed to cancel by notarized letter or come in by the end of the month to cancel. I came in 5/28 to cancel and was told that I had not cancelled in time to avoid the fee, despite what their employee had told me. I called corporate customer service and was told that it was pending and at the discretion of the club manager, who would be able to remove it once it hit my credit card as a courtesy since there was a miscommunication with her employee. I have now tried calling three days in a row and cannot get a hold of the manager or get someone to take a message. The past two employees were very polite but the employee this morning was very snippy and said that the manager would not help me. I am frustrated and want someone to get in touch with me.
Good variety of exercise equipment and well lit. Some equipment is older though and not as nice as the Jenkintown location.
Cancelled my membership because I do not use it at all and to avoid the extra charge they have in the beginning of May. However, they charged me an extra $39.
I called them. They said, it's in the terms and conditions that tells you to cancel 5 days prior to May 1st. They cannot do anything because I cancelled 4 days before May 1st.
BIG SCAM!
Everyone is very friendly! I go after 11pm when I'm done work bc it's my local gym and it isn't super crowded around that time, which I love, but it's definitely busier in the earlier hours of the evening.
Clean, good machines, nice decor to spend time in to exercise. Best gym in the area I've tried so far. Can't beat the price.
